Canadian football is similar to American football but is much more exciting. There are some rule differences that make it more exciting. The primary differences being only 3 downs instead of 4 to get 10 yards and 12 players on the field instead of 11. The Canadian field is 110 yards long instead of 100 and it is also wider.

Piss off yankee!

Canadian Football has 3 downs instead of 4, we still get 10 yards, although they are longer than the American 10 yards. Obviously we have less teams; BC, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Hamilton, Toronto and Montreal.

Canadian Football gets 1 point if the ball is kicked through the endzone and the uprights are placed towards the front of the end zone as compared to being placed at the end of the endzones in American Football.

Ya, what they all said about different rules, size of field, extra player, plus the field goal convert is at the touchdown line, not at the back of the end zone.

Plus ticket prices are priced so you can actually GO, not dream of going.

Plus theres only 9 teams so you can be a good fan, watch all the games, know the players and still have a life outside of football during the season! I love CFL!!!

You think Canadians are laid back and polite? Have you watched a hockey game? Driven a car in Vancouver or Montreal?

Holy smokers, update that stereotype.

No. Much better than boring American Football.

Hopefully it's more like 'football' (ie, the game invented in Britain) and involves kicking a round ball with the feet, and not wearing any body-armour beyond a humble pair of shin-pads.

No. It's a totally different set of rules. For instance, CFL has 3 downs, NFL has 4. CFL has bigger end zone, bigger fields and bigger balls. Most serious football fans prefer watching NFL over CFL.
