There is nothing like Love-marriage, you're both happy to have the person you love with you "forever". I mean fall in love first then get marry, that's the normal way.

I personally feel that the reason why one chooses to go for an arranged marriage is that people at times don't want to take responsibility for their own lives. It's better for some to leave to others (parents etc.) to take the most important decision of their lives. Unfortunately though.

Yes, at times the family is too strict (hence, unreasonable) about the whole thing. Cultures, like in India, will take some more time to see the light I guess.

There is too many arrabged narriage because the human is vary claver, it is not going on from last some years but since many years. We all need food to live. Think if we never feel hungry,how the world seems. No one lives with others for a long time. So our parents who care us realy, wants to be sure that is the boy earns or can earn enough, is the boy care for his parents , dose he respect his parent. Do he obliz the rules n regulation of the socity. The boys parent are care for the same n nowadays they also like to know that is she earns or not. Understand.

My parents and my brother marriages were arranged and guess what? They work because my parents have been married for 30 years.

Had there not been a sweet invention such as an 'arranged-marriage in life, I could never have got married ever. Full credits to my wife who had made it happen. Thank her and thank god.

it's a culture thing. i personally think it's stupid. if they arrange the marriage and you don't like the person, then your stuck with them. divorce is a big NO NO in some of these cultures.

Well its customs of the culture, and some people are just no able to find that special someone.

I am american and I am not so totally against it.

But I think there should be some say so from each adult.
