All of the makes look so much alike that the shape of the grill and head lights are the best way to tell the make.

Because the human mind is so accustomed to cars with headlights, that we would feel uncomfortable at a subconscious level if they didn't have fake headlights, and the sport would go into decline. The same thing will happen when we have hover cars instead of cars with wheels. They'll put some fake wheels on the side so people don't freak out. It's also the reason why they make us robots where simSkin to look human. ::beep::

Because Glass is dangerous. In the SCCA racing series, the only real headlights are on stock production and vintage cars. AND THEY MUST BE TAPED WITH AN 8 CROSS.
