I'm pretty sure....I'm really not sure....I DON'T KNOW! This stuff is confusing...sorry I am of no help...

I see a mistake in the .... example you have. The oxygen with the NH4 does not have a subscript two. This is because the ammonium ion is a +1 and the O is a -2, so it (the product)should be written (NH4)2O. Diatomic atoms are only written with a subscript two when alone, not with another ion forming a compound.

Balanced it is written:

2(NH4) + O2 > (NH4)2O

Get an "A".
