Caucasian_Power got me thinkin on this one...he's the one making all the ignorant remarks about Blacks so tell me what did you learn about other races...we were taught in my household to treat everyone with respect...we didn't learn negative things about races or made to believe that we were inferior to other races

we were brought up the same, to treat others with respect and that just because someone has a different color skin as you doesn't make them any better or worst then you are, same with people that had less then we did, we were taught not to treat them like they were worthless. if anything we were taught to embrace other people and love them for who they are. most of all we were taught that if someone doesn't show you respect, then don't respect them back. i was never taught or told anything negative about other ethnic backgrounds by my family.

Yes. As a child my mother and much older sister tried to explain to me that the neighbor girl I played with was different and I just couldn't understand it. I was not allowed to invite kids to my birthday parties if they were of other races, which was difficult since I grew up in an area with many hispanics and native americans and few whites (and even fewer blacks). I never understood what the difference was and I still don't. It's amazing that I have grown up to not be racist.

I was raised to treat everyone equally, and that skin color made no difference.

Then I moved to Baltimore as an adult, and the ethnics there tried to rob, beat up, or kill me, at least twice a year. One nice gentleman went out of his way to walk all the way across a sparsely occupied subway platform to blatantly try to push me in front of an oncoming train.

Makes one wonder about life.

I was also taught that you respect all people... no matter what. All skin does in holds everything in.. it has nothing to do with who you are... And that is the same I teach my kids... My kids no better than to judge by race! I don't play the race game~!

We were told that WHITES always fight with BLACKS. When i came to this country, my eyes were full of tears of sorrow for BLACKS. And when we were in this country only 20 days with NO English, a black guy stoped us and ask for the money. First we couldn't understand what he wanted until when he pointed a gun to my niece, who was then 3year old. And then my eyes got opened. And now i pay for their Welfare.
I work with Americans, Iranian,Russian,Polish,Syrian and we don't have a problem. We are all get along, but i don't have a black friend.

sorry...being Scottish and bought up in the 70s/80s we were led to believe that it was the norm to poke fun at ethnic races....i still do but not in a nasty way,its quite hard to get away from it because thats the way you were brought up.....sorry...its also true that living in west of Scotland you neither hated catholics or protestants depending what you were(all stems from the troubles in Ireland)......although in todays society it is 100 times better.....

your mom and dad did a very good job at teaching you that because there's no differences but color.....and that's it. i was never told anything about the "differences" because there aren't any.....and i didn't bother with that with my daughters when they were little for that same reason. i was born in los angeles and grew up in WATTS and if anyone knows anything about watts ,,then that's all i have to say!,,,,,,,no difference.

I was taught that we are all children of God.... to respect them as our own.... to not judge their ways of life.... and to learn as much as we can about other cultures - 'cause you'd be surprised on how much we have in common...and how much you could learn from them...

my mother is a foster mother so i grew up with all kinds of races. it was never an issue...my mother never really had to discuss it or explain it to me because it was just so natural to me. you're right tho...i'm sure all the hatred that guy has comes from his fam and how he was raised. i feel sorry for him
