Hi,
to be honest, I am kind of ashamed of my family. see, my mother is one of 12 kids in her family and even though I have lots of uncles/aunts and cousins...well none of us keep in touch with eachother and i'm not even close to my mother. My mother has done so many things that I don't agree with, but she will be the first person to tell someone else how to run their life! Also, none of my uncles/aunts or cousins bother with eachother. I come from a really weird family. However, it just makes me appreciate my friends even more now because I picked my friends by myself...and I was born into my "weird" family.

Well... most of my family is dead. That is my parents, as my father died when I was a teen. I guess I am embarrassed that my Uncles, Aunts and cousins, did not see it necessary to make sure that I had food to eat as a teen, since I often went for two or more days without food during that time period. Gee what wonderful family, especially after an Uncle tearfully said that he would be like a father to me and make sure I was all right. Well.. that only lasted till he left the house and went back home. Not even a birthday card. My relatives only wanted to know me when I was finished school, working and their kids/grand-kids were celebrating an event where gifts were given. What a bunch of creeps.

yeah I think its unfair somewhat. I am somewhat embrassed about my family cause my mom was older then most of my friends moms growing up and everyone thought she was my grandmother.

i get embarressed by my family yes. They try to find more than one way to humilate me however, without them i wouldnt be me.. and without your parents you wouldnt be you.. dispite them embaressing you im glad ive got the parents i have, because they make things just that little more worthwhile.. Your parents are there for a lifetime and are garenteed a lifetime of devotion trust and love. friends find motives to be malicious and cruel. I'm happy my family are who they are and you should be too!
My mum embaresses me when i have my partner over, she tries to bring up childhood memories or silly little things ive said.. and she tells my boyfriend and friends etc..

no, not unfair in any shape or form, we get to learn about others, and have learned so much from my friends, family, now thats a different tune, they are what they are, just have to roll with the the flow at times, grin and bear it, they love me in spite of my faults though, as I do them

Sometimes I am,but sometimes I'm quite proud of them.In general those are the people who made you or who share the same blood as you,so like it or not you are stuck with them. You lose nothing if you try and make the better of it.

You must be a teenager. Only children can say or think such cruel things about their family.

They are embarrassing at times, but I love them in my own way and vice versa... The blood runs deeper than the embarrassment...
