I thank you for sharing such thoughtful insights on the apparent disconnection of beliefs and actions of the Bush Administration. Perhaps I did not phrase the question correctly, for the Bush Administration was not the focus of my question. I want to identify distinct examples of a logical disconnection in society. The Bush Administration's behavior is certainly just an example. Can you think of an example of an individual or group of individuals where their actions contradict their beliefs or vise a versa?

Socialists.

They claim to be for 'democracy' but instead build 'bureaucracy' that enslaves the working class. For reference, study Russia, Cuba, Fascist (Socialist) Italy, NAZI (Socialist) Germany, North Korea...

Liberals.

They claim to be 'open minded' yet react with rage at that which disagrees with them. To prove this, go to a Thanksgiving feast with a lot of liberals and read aloud the historical origin of the holiday. Then look at the fury on the faces and be prepared to get the cold shoulder for the rest of the night. Been there, done that.

Gun Control

The notion that guns make society more safe in the hands of government masters and criminals, yet less safe in the hands of lawful Citizens who would defend themselves from criminal attack. Self defense statistics show that the intended victim is least likely to be harmed when armed with a gun.

Progressives

A name Socialists apply to themselves - insist that 'peace' is good if tyrants are murdering innocents by the millions, but fighting back and incurring any casualties to stop it is bad. FACT: Human progress is a direct result of the relative security achieved by waging war against brutal tyrannies.
