They might have been your friend 10 years ago, but now they are not. This has happened to me, and although sad, they do not deserve your friendship. It will hurt, it will suck, but eventually the pain will go away and you will find a friend worthy of that definition.

You are absolutely right, if there was not a bigger reason behind it.
You need to let it go and move on. Te years is a long time and it will take a year for sure to get over it. Actually you will still remember ever so often. But hopefully you'll find someone else in the far future. I said far future because you need time to distance yourself from this experience.

I can relate. I just ended a 17 year friendship. However it was for other reasons ( her constant lying and manipulating of everyone around her are just a few of the reasons). But, you just have to accept her decision. It will be hard and you are going to feel betrayed and hurt for awhile, but hopefully you have other friends to help you get through this difficult time. u 2 have been friends 4 10 years well it just shows u that she has been hiding the true her for 10 years how shady can sh be a friend remains a friend u get pisssed but remain friends so suck it up n get over it she was never ur real friend i bet she is talking about u right now behind ur back. likechild i dumped such n so of being my friend n there dum as* keep calling me crying asking me to make up ..............come on 4 get about her but u can call n say ur sorry
