To piano_player:
Lois and Lana do not have the same last name, it's Lois Lane and Lana Lang.

Because the story lines are more interesting if they arent fawning all over each other, which at this point wouldnt be very interesting. Lois is living with the Kents because Martha invited her to stay since she had nowhere to go. Remember her father kind of booted her out and Chloe's house got blown up awhile back and now Chloe is attending school in Metropolis so no place for Lois there. Plus is makes things a little more uncomfortable and squirmy for Clark, which is always fun to watch :)

In the original superman movie with Christopher Reeve, superman/clark kent doesn't meet Lois until he moves to Metropolis. I know in Smallville everything is a little different because they have him starting out as a teen who meets lana his high school love. then he is suppose to meet lois later. i havent' watched Smallville in a 2 years, it got really boring and played out. sorry

just by watching the show and from watching superman...as we know he is grown when he falls in love with her plus he is working at the daily planet. So maybe as the story progresses they will....I just wonder are Lois and Lanna related or did I miss that because they both have the SAME LAST NAME???? hmmm..

Lois it working for Mrs Kent...I haven't seen it in a few weeks so I'm not sure why she is living there...that may be the reason...

Yes, they are destined to be with each other, but if they ever got together they would run out of things to write about in the series. The major plot drama comes out of the fact that they are meant to be together, they both fancy each other, but they are just not getting it on.

There is a precedent to behove here, the 1980s sitcom "moonlighting" had the same "will they won't they" plot device to keep viewers happy. As soon as they got together the show turned rubbish and people stopped watching it.

They both have big egos. Not sure about her living with the Kents, though.
