Stater Brothers.

I used to have both stores near me & did my own savings comparison. I shopped Albertson's one month & kept the receipts. The next month, I shopped Stater's & kept the receipts. What I saved on Stater's was amazing. I saved almost $60 at Stater's. I had the Albertson's Preferred Savings card too & had shopped both stores with the sale ads & coupons each month. The card actually didn't save me as much money as I thought it would. I bought the same items both months at both stores.

I don't miss Albertson's one bit since it closed up & moved to another location. I now shop Stater's & Food 4 Less. I shop Stater's at the beginning of the month & Food 4 Less mid to month's end to get better buys on certain food items.

I've seen lot of discounts at Albertson's & better selection than at Stater Bros. However, I like Ralph's the best.

Stater Bros is cheaper, plus they have a fresh meat counter.

They are both about the same, in my opinion. I used to live in CA and I perferred Albies because the stores were better organized. There were some goods that were cheaper at one or the other, but overall it comes down to personal preference, customer service and location. It doesn't pay to save a few pennies at Albies if you have to drive 10 miles to get to it (think gasoline prices).
