Because we are at war. We want the war to end. We need information from terrorists in custody in order to expedite our engagement. What policy by that name?
Who wants war?
Why are prominent Muslims not screaming about the direction extremists have taken Islam? For or against?

Because there is no torture policy. The Bush Administration is using coercive interrogation. While this is harsh, none of the techniques constitutes actual torture.
