and laughed a lot too. "Do you know what my favourite musical is? Well it's Annie and looking at your hair just reminded me of it!" Fanflippintastic! I'd love another series, but who would Jim bounce off and try to rile with nana gone - he couldn't pick fights with her urn on top of the TV could he?
The bit that got me most was when Jim broke down at the hospital for all the goading between the two of them.
But who's the jerk answering here who thinks he's lord high and mighty though? (or it might be a she - I didn't bother to try to check) Telling us it celebrated Britain's "underclass" which is probably why we all liked it. I'm from working class stock and flipping proud of it, I was taught manners and encouraged to take up opportunities my parents didn't have and to value them - unlike those from the higher classes who are taught nothing of the value of anything. Its funny, three other favourite programmes of mine are 'Sex and the City', 'Lost' and 'The West Wing' - so does that mean that I'm a sex crazed New York active Democrat who has a complicated secret and back-story and has been in a plane crash? Just goes to show you should never make assumptions so readily!

i have to say, i was never a fan!
but each to their own - i cried watching scrubs this afternoon!
hah
i just thought that the problem with the royle family was that although sometimes reality can be funny.. often it's not and without jokes and witty dialogue, then you're just laughing at how stupid people are.
i suppose that what most joke are nowadays.

Good god, get a life people, its a crappy tv show about Britains social underclass, maybe thats why it struck a cord with so many of the dribbling morons on here.
Nice to see one of the dribbling morons go on the offensive, the jerk is a rather wealthy businessman who grew up on a rough council estate in West Yorkshire thank you, no silver spoon here, the fact that i see the Royle Family for what it is and you dont says far more about you than it does about me.
Now get back under your rock peasant.
Is that your burberry cap on the floor next to Chardonnays flick knife?

I am an American and have never heard of this show. Please, tell what it is about. I see a lot of questions regarding it. Is it based on the Royal family or is it a spoof of them?
