Only you can answer that...beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all. The physical shell is secondary to the person within, because you view the people you're emotionally attached to in a softer light than those you aren't. None of us knows your boyfriend personally, so we see only the shell - a tiny piece of who he is.
Philosophy aside, I wouldn't personally classify him as handsome...but he's not ugly, either. With how expressive his face can be, lol, I'm sure he has a great smile that you probably enjoy seeing.
