I may be wrong, but I think the term "bonus" implies that it goes above and beyond what you are entitled. It's similar to a gift.

No, a christmas bonus is to thank workers for their loyalty, if you leave before bonus time you wont be entitled to anything, and quite rightly so.

It depends entirely on what is written in your employee contract / handbook. I would suspect, however, that the bonus would be dependant on you still being employed at christmas

No I doubt it. you normally still have to be employed to receive a bonus of any sort.

it does depend on whats in your contract .. have a good read through your contract you never know your luck
