You can take them into McDonald's restaurants. They recycle them and use them for The Ronald McDonald House, which is a temporary housing for families of severely ill children. Usually, the families come from several hours or more away from their home so their child can go to the hospital. Hotel stays get very expensive for a family who already may have exorbitant health care costs and when the parents may be taking unpaid leave from work. The Ronald McDonald House is a godsend to these people.

After reading the other answers, I almost shouldn't give my answer. Mind you my daughter did this years ago. She painted 1 wall in her kitchen silver and entirely covered it in pull tabs she hot glued on. It looked spectacular. The curtain windows "curtains" were made of the tabs, connected one to another, She made a black mini skirt and sewed them to it ( she also did the same with paperclips.) One other thing she did was to make a floor-length vest out of them. The Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore, acquired this item for their collection. I didn't mention, she is an artist. Maybe not the noble cause that the other answers have suggested, but there has to be a place for fun and art in this world also.

well one thing that will make you feel great about them is donating them to somebody that needs kiimo-therapy. This helps alot because it creates alot of radiation to remove the cancer, and effectively slow or cut the growth of cancer cells. My school has done that once, and i felt great because i bought alot of snapples.
