Yes this is what happens when the latch stops working. Buy a new latch it comes with the lock motor in it. Examine how the lock releases and the door striker catch opens. Now the fun part you have to remove the door panel and it is not easy when the door is closed. If you see the handle to latch rod off and the inside handle rod ok child lock on fix the handle rod.. some time you can break up the latch with a long pry bar and hammer. pry flip the stricker cam and door open. Replace the latch lock assembly.

You may be able to get to the latch mechanism by rolling the window down and using long tools (screwdriver, needle nose pliers) to release the latch or lock whichever is not working. watch the one on the other door to see how it works. It will be easier w/ a strong flashlight and a helper. I have been up against this one before. One of the rods broke inside the door. It takes patience and a steady hand. It is nearly impossible on most cars to remove the interior door pannel w/ the door closed as suggested by the others. Take your time and don't let frustration make you break something. It can be done.

Not trying to be a .........., but if you have to ask, you probably can't fix it yourself.
To find whatever is wrong, you will have to pull the interior panel off while the door is shut. This can be done, but is not an easy task. If you remove the rear seat and seat back it makes it easier, but it is still difficult. Once you get the panel off you will need to remove the moisture shield, then manually trip the lock/latch mechanism. Then you gotta replace whatever is bad!

I have no idea. However, if the lock itself is defective, then the only way to get at the mechanism is by pulling the interior panels off the door. This can't be done unless the door is open.

Yes, start tearing the inner door lining off, You will finally get to the works and see what isn't working. It is either mechanically frozen up with rust, or your electrical is not working.

take the inside door panel off and look for a rod that goes to your doorlock and snap it back into the coupling. sounds hard but you'll see the other rods in the door. look at them and you'll se what i mean.
