Yes, and for good reason particularly on these 2 issues.
I agree with the cell phones being banned. I have been rear-ended 2 times in the last year by people speaking on their cell phones. (once on the 10 freeway west and once on the 405 north) One county in Georgia, banned speaking on cell phones in cars 2 years ago and the statistics show that the accident rates are down as much as 85%.
I agree with the no smoking on the street in Calabasas because that place is so dry that one cigarette could cause a major fire. I don't agree that they should be able to stop you from smoking on your own property, however.

1) Glad not to have smoke in my face as often.
2) People have gotten away with poor driving long enough. There should be no exception for handsfree models.

Well, I have to agree on some laws being very important for safety, etc. Nothing irritates me more than people gabbing away on their cell phones in cars, in stores, etc. How did we ever survive in the 50's and 60's with these "modern" conveniences? Whether it's smoking or whatever; you have to have respect for people around you, and I'm a smoker, by the way.

Hehe, welcome to California. Amazing laws. I don't like people smoking in my face either, but it should be a personal choice issue. Sounds like government overreaching. As for the cell phone issue? How many people try to fix their face or shave, or pick up cd's from the floorboard and have wrecks? Should we enact some type of ban for that too? Or just give tickets for wreckless driving?
