I am dyslexic. I am a life-long reader and lover of learning; as I have aged, it has become more and more difficult to understand/comprehend/follow texts. I have only been able to succeed by fastidious rereading; fact checking; confirmation. it sucks, but what else can I do? Some may think its funny, but it really is frustrating.

Doesn't have to be, there are tricks and tips to help dyslexics cope with writing and reading .
Dyslexia is a learning disability where a person has difficulty reading or writing because letters or words get scrambled in the brain and the person has to rely on context rather than words to provide the meaning.
It doesn't mean you will be unsuccessful in life , it just means you will live life differently abled . Nelson Rockefeller, Tom Cruise, Sly Stallone , Windston Churchill, Cher , Bruce Jenner all are dyslexic apparently and probably more than we realize.
Having dyslexia does not make you lesser than anyone else . You'll develop skills in other areas that people who may write and read well don't have.

Like Cecil, I am dyslexic. I took special classes in elementary school, so, now, unless I'm really tired, it is under control. Still it is a constant struggle. I once, in writing a manuscript, flipped over the b, and inverted the order of the o, w, and l. So my attempt at writing "fish bowl" came out as "fish plow". And my girlfriend at the time, who was also my typist, told every one of our friends about it. To this day, this circle of people all keep their gold fish in fish plows. All that to say, that despite the struggles, I can find the humor in my condition. I like dyslexic jokes. I'm also Jewish and like Jewish jokes. Self-deprecating humor is important. If we can't laugh at ourselves, how do we earn the right to laugh at anything else?

Then there's the dyslexic atheist who lay awake all night wondering if there really was a dog.

It meams that it makes more fun reading an average book, since you can read most of fhe book upside down or mirror image. But, it also means that it takes four times as long to read a normal book than a person without the disability.
