...Tissues, too. Why did they stop?

Thanks for the memory!!

I don't think of pink or light blue toilet paper often, but your question made me recall the "good ole days."

Yes, I remember the pastel colors of toilet paper and tissues. I do not know what happened to them other than the fact that nothing comes in pastels anymore (not necessarily a bad thing...LOL).

Do you remember the commercials with Mr. Whipple???

Yes I remember both and that was back in a time when America was the land of the free.
Mom and Pop stores on every corner, big business was owned by people and family was the top priority.
Blue laws were in affect (no one worked on Sundays pretty much) and Sunday was the day of rest and family.
Holidays were just that HOLIDAYS and we had the whole weekend or three days at least to spend with our families at HOLIDAY time.
Holidays mostly represent overtime however that is changing too with the corporate giants that make us work and pay every minute of every day.

So back to your answer they are not made that way anymore because of CORPORATE PROFIT! They get the bucks we work for and the government takes what ever they want we get the scraps! NO HOLIDAYS NO SUNDAYS OFF NO OVERTIME AND AN AVERAGE AMERICAN WORK WEEK OF 60 HOURS.

THANK YOU AMERICA! Give us back colored toilet paper and tissue, Sundays off and I would rather shop at the corner hardware and department store then at Lowes, Home Depot and Wal Mart any day. Bake a cake from scratch instead of eating enitmines or hostess.............do you know what hostess and Hershey own!

Yes I absolutely do remember it. My mother bought the pink because that was the color scheme in our bathroom. I hadn't thought of colored toilet paper in years! You get a star from me for asking a never seen before question.

Well I'm guessing the dye in the paper was causing problems with mainly females. The dye was setting up infections while using it. I agree they were pretty and could match the colors in the bathrooms. You can still order them if you have to have them. I seen some on ABC Dist. with snowman on them!

Yea, I remember that. Use to come in pink, blue and I think yellow. And if i remember correctly I think scented. People these days are sensitive to the dyes and fragrances. I'm sure that's why they stopped making it.

I vaguely remember them. Was it the late 70's? I think maybe the dye caused some sort of skin irritation, which caused it to be discontinued.

Yes, I remember. You can still get it in blue (by Scott, I think), but it is rare. Maybe some people and/or the environment can't handle the dyes?

I suppose it was meant to match the bathroom furniture. Has anyone still got a bath and toilet in avocado?

I sure do. Yea, I think it had something to do with the dyes in it. I know my mother would never buy it cuz of that reason....L
