was it because of war which led to stock marcket crash?

Part of it was Europe coming back into the economy after the first world war and how the Allies and Germans re-acted. Alot of it was due to economic strain , not just in europe but in the US as well so yes the stock market crash was part of the causes of the Depression in the dirty thirties but it also had alot to do with international conditions and markets.

The great Depression was the worst economic decline ever in the us history.
The main cause were unequal distribution of wealth and extensive stock market speculation.
Money was distributed unequally between the rich and middle- class,
between industry and agriculture within the u.s.a and between the us and Europe

Wartime and peacetime.During peacetime the worlds economy slows.In wartime it booms,everybody in war needs supplies.Just like whats happening now in the economy its booming.
