SNL has not been funny for 5 or 6 years, which is around the time Will Ferrell, Norm MacDonald, Cheri Oteri, Molly Shannon, Chris Kattan and David Spade, left.

I believe the cast is in part to blame. But also the jokes are pretty silly. It has kept on going thanks to the reputation associated with the name of the show, that was built by the "great ones" of the 70's, 80's and 90's. And the loyal older viewers.

It's sad that MAD Tv is a lot funnier.

it has not been funny since about '79 or '80. Why do we all seem to have memories of when it was good, when it has been so horribly, painfully bad for decades? Funny how the fake sketches on "Studio 60" are actually funny and so superior to the "real" SNL.

I think it s not funny for a bunch of reasons. 1. It s too childish to be funny (i.e., not clever at all, any more). 2. Too many lame sex jokes (which, come to think of it, is part of the "childishness"). 3. They think "mean" and "obnoxious" passes for humor. Guess what? It doesn t. Oh, and by the way? I m 25, so don t say "I m maturing too much." Unless the so-called humor is now geared for 15 year olds...which, by the way, maybe it is.

You are maturing so things that were funny to you at one time are now either dull, stupid or offensive. It is the natural progression of life.
