I have a neighbor, who I have really been seemingly growing closer to. She and I have a lot in common and I feel like she and I could become great friends!!

I had thought in the beginning when I met her that we were so different, but little by little, I realized that (at least to me) we are "cut from the same loaf" (nut loaf! ;) (lol)

I didn't give her the credit she deserved in the beginning when I first met her. I was on such a "holyier than though" kick (more subconsciously than anything else) and now I really have come to the realization that she is really a great friend.

We have been through some things together which makes our friendship seem to have grown years when it has only been a few months.

My question: She gave me 2 dozen yellow roses (no special occassion) and I want to thank her properly. I want to thank her in a way that not only lets her know that I have thanked her, but also that I want our friendship to continue to "Blossom"!!! :)

Ideas?

Just "thank her for the beautiful roses". Tell her that the buds just blossomed (opened up) and that's how you see your relationship with her. Tell her you consider her a great friend and that you are very thankful for the friendship that has developed between the both you us. Reassure her that you are always there for her should she need a shoulder to lean on, after all, that's what friends are for.

Buy a nice big basket, and fill it up with all kinds of goodies, or you can do a fruit basket. or different tea's, an garden basket, or wine and cheeses, and you can get the bags to put it in, along with a big bow. Or they have the cruise boats that go out for lunch or dinner for about 3 hours, they are nice also, but the baskets are fun, and enjoyable!

Why don't you take her on a "date"? It seems like you enjoy her company so you could do something fun like an afternoon picnic and a hike or a lunch and an afternoon at a pottery store (so much fun, you pick the pottery and spend the afternoon painting it and chatting). My friends and I get together and do stuff like that often.

invite her over forr a dinner...cook something you know she enjoys eating and maybe watch a movie after.... personally nothing brings friends closer than cooking them a home cooked meal. to me it shows the amount of consideration fo a friend then cooking a meal you know they like
