you have several options my friend. You can buy an Air Induction Kit to allow more air, headers, open up the exhaust w/ bigger diameter pipes (say 4"+/-), performance muffler, and even a super chip for the ECM.
Take your pick and go from there. The good thing is you don't have to buy it all at one time, just when you can afford to!!!

Doesn't driving a very heavy 14 year old car get to you some times? With out the VR-4 option and turbochargers 3000 did not have much power from the factory. Now the engine is about worn out adding anything to put more power and stress on the connecting rods and pistons might KABOOM! then you will really want a new car.
