It means you don't blindly follow everything they do. You could be pro-life or pro-choice or against gay marriage. I'm a moderate democrat, I'm pro-choice and for gay marriage. I support the death penalty and against illegal drugs, also I dislike the welfare system which is a government handout, and I support the fence while some liberals abhor the idea of a fence on the border. Liberal democrats are anti-death penalty, for drugs, and support every social program. You don't need to be a liberal to be a democrat remember there are conservatives and moderates. Hopefully, we will take control of the democratic party and stop the liberals.

Joe Liebermann is a Deomcrate moderate, Liberalism is the extreme kook wing of the democrats, anyone who professes liberal tendencies is actually out of mainstream democrat party and America.

There are a few. It used to be more common, but most have become Republicans or Independents. I was a moderate to conservative Dem until Clinton shook his finger and said "I did not have sexual relations with that woman". Now there are, I think 2 conservative Dems in the entire country.
