Yeah, it most certainly is. Today I was having an argument with someone about global warming (the pillock thought it's not really happening)... and I just suddenly thought... Hey, you know what? The planet is f****d, and there's not a thing I can do about it... I can recycle a little, I can use energy saving lightbulbs, I can ride a bike instead of drive, but is that really going to save us?
I don't think so.
Also, even if everything was perfect, we all have to die at the end of it, which I think is pretty sh** too.
I'm a pessimist, I guess. That's just the tip of my "everything sucks" iceburg...
So yeah, it's not just you, it's me too - everything is just ***t.

OK, as you've asked that in the Philosophy zone, I'll answer it along those lines...
If you've read any Schoppenhauer, you'll realise that negative events are more readily noticed than positive events, and it is those events that define our realities. Pick up any history book, and flick to any page. What you will see is likely to be a record of a war or an era of struggle. We document hardship and ignore periods of social rest and peace.
How are you feeling today? The chances are (I hope) you are in very good physical health, and yet until asked, you were no doubt blissfully unaware of it. If you happen to have a pain in any part of your body, it will be the pain that your mind focusses on, and not the wellbeing of all the other parts. Thus negativity finds its way to overpower positivity.
Look for the positives (and there are always positives) and focus on them. Your focus defines your reality.

If you are asking if everything is merely faecal matter, then in a way, yes. Matter goes through phases, dunnit ? So the example you've chosen - food - starts off as vegetables, say, which come from the soil, which is nourished by faecal matter....
And when you've finished with the food and it leaves your body, it becomes faecal matter and so it continues. All matter goes through cycles, no point in choosing one point in the cycle and saying everything is at that stage all the time.
It's not your responsibility to sort out what is and is not faecal matter, darling. The universe already has it sorted. Think about something else.

Well we all know how the song goes...(Always look on the bright side of life...)
Life's a piece of s**t
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life...

No, it's just you and several billion others whose perception is that "everything is just ***t". This, however, is just an illusion. There is a different perception awaiting you in this moment of NOW.

Its not you. Everything is sh*t I know so. But there are different grades of sh*t, really F*cking, Bast*rd, W*nking Sh*t is probably the worst, then is goes down till your left with just Sh*t, so everything being Sh*t for you is about as good as it gets!!

Yes, it is just you. Everyone else thinks that it is the best of times in the best of all possible worlds.
Or maybe not.
