Okay, we all know people of both genders who are our age can be tired, stressed, have variations in their level of sexual desire. But is it normal for a man to say his marriage is great but almost never want to have sex, like once every couple of months, and when the wife initiates or asks about increasing the frequency, he takes the stand that sex just isn't important to him any more? Am I mistaken to think many men like, want, and try to have sex well past 40? Don't guys these ages, er, have occasional glitches, but can usually perform, and if not, they would try again soon, and/or get help? Don't a lot of guys in their 40s, 50s, sixties still want sex "often", say, usu. a couple times a week or more? My guy basically just quit our sex life altogether. He is 51, I am 46. No sex for almost two years. :-(

Totally not normal - did you talk about it? Maybe he has a medical or mental problem? Do you think he's getting it elsewhere?

"All" males irregardless of age want sex often and more than twice a week... sometimes with women to young to be interested!

What they do about it ,may be very little or nothing!

I'm 53 and I can remember, I would practically make a new door to bedroom when my wife walked up to me, especially when I wasn't looking and put her hand on my shoulder in a way that only meant one thing! It would make me feel younger and usefull!

Those days are a memory and Its good that my wife only did that ounce in a while because it really isn't an issue!

I still admire the female form and it's natural for the guy to want sex even with his wife .... I still want to!

But when it came down to it everything would be right and we would get all worked up the way it usually happens, When it was time for me to make any moves I would feel like the incredible shrinking man!

It was frustrating and disappointing, so I would avoid any sexual contact or it would just remind me of what I couldn't do! I sleep in the livingroom, permanently!

I can't remember the last time we had sex together.

If your husband has decided that you are both happy the way things are, chances are that you will only frustrate him by expecting more!

It might be a good idea to learn how to have sex alone, I'm sure he has!

Good luck...I think!

Tough question. I believe this has a lot to do with how your husband lived his younger years. He could be diabetic, or have some type of spinal injury or clogged arteries, this would prevent the blood flow. Of course it could also be psychological and this is his way of justifying (its not as important anymore).

I once injured my back and after a trip to the chiropractor, I felt a difference in the blood flow, So i know from personal experience slight injuries can cause a decrease in his libido.

It could also be a lack of communication and maybe even another woman.

You are not mistaken men do want to have sex well into their 40s. My grandparents were into their 60s and were still in the mix.

You want to face this problem intelligently so, forget the wisecracks.
what's his physical condition, drugs and pain problems. A man this age has been through the mill somewhat and could have some problems. Men can and do go through a "change of life" not as a woman but in somewhat the same manner. Have him speak with a consular. Something could be bothering him. Normal sex should be twice even three times a week all considering his work, play and other conditions.

What have you contributed to help? think about it.

Is he telling the truth? Im male in my 40s and I still want sex alot. Not as much as my younger years but still Id say 2-3 times a week or more depending on how tired I get from working alot. Try to remember the thing that turned him on the most back in the day and use your naughty imagination to the 2nd power with that. Maybe that will amp up his libido. It would mine baby.

it may be the routine that makes it less, plus the 50 area puts men in the light they want younger to feel younger. he may be getting on the side.
