If the richest 10% of the population in Nicaragua receives approximately 50% of all income and the poorest 10% in the country receives 2.5% of all income, calculate the inequiality ratio for Nicaragua? What does this signify? Can anyone tell me if this is even figurable?

The ratio = .50/.025 = 20. This is one of many measure of income distribution used to compare countries or to see the change in a single county over time. The most common is the GINI index but it more complicated and harder to understand and calculate.

averaging like this greatly bluntens the appearance of inequality/ injustice/ theft [legal & other]/ wealth concentration/ power concentration - a better, more real figure is the ratio of highest to lowest individual increase of fortune per hour of work

the world inequality ratio is one billion - ie, one billion times as much/ one billionth as much, for same time of work

the inequality ratio is also the violence ratio and the speed of escalation of violence ratio
