I think it is not the place, it is the people,who makes places scary!

Unexpected surprises in the dark especially freaky ones like or low lit areas with gloomy shadows and such. Creepy looking creatures and suspenseful music strange voices and strange noises. All these things make for a scarry place.

truthfully, i do no longer discover many places too frightening for me.
