My favorite female rappers: early MC Lyte early Queen Latifah Sweet Tee Finesse & Sinquis Mecca The Lady Bug (Digable Planet) Lauryn Hill Bahamadia Lin Que Shawnna Jean Grae Invincible Swanna Female singers : Ericka Badu Jill Scott Santigold Sade & soulful female singers from 60's & 70's Females are truly sleeping on Invincible. My God. She's the illest Female right now with Jean Grae coming in second.

There was this rapper chick from back in the day to rival Vanilla Ice, Icy Blue, i think it was her name. Anyone remember her? I think it was almost the same time as when his movie came out Cool as Ice. It was a marketing gimmick but she had an album and everything. Icy Blue

i don't know. i guess because there are barely any successful black female rappers! i think that gwen stefani and fergie can sometimes be in that category (gwen stefani with "hollaback girl" and fergie with "fergalicious"). they really are rapping if you listen. and yes: Lady Sovereign signed with Def Jam and now has a Top 40 hit ("Love Me or Hate Me [F*** You!]) . I think the song is okay.

well there is lady sovereign but she is hella bootsey i can't stand her. so mayb thats one rason y there no white female rappers--they get on people's nerves more, or its just not expected for them to be rappers

Because females are too smart to rap. They are smart enough to realize how stupid it is. It is just sexist. But then again, if a female rapped they wouldn't have to hire someone to shake their @$$ in their videos. ;)
