To get rid of the radical, multiply top and bottom by the bottom:

Sqrt (10+8)
____________ = Sqrt(18)/ -5Sqrt(11)
(-5) Sqrt (10+1)


Sqrt(18) Sqrt(11)
________ * _________ This is legal as you are multiplying by 1
-5Sqrt(11) Sqrt (11)


Sqrt(18) * Sqrt(11)
