It's awesome that you asked this because I wondered the same thing up til a month ago. I have had problem skin for 12 years, since I was 15 and I'm now 27. I tried proactive about 4 years ago, but never did all the steps consistently so I didn't have a lot of success. I have, like the commercials say, tried EVERYTHING!! Anyway, a lady at my old church told me the only thing that worked for her was Proactive and that the generic brand that they sell at Walmart works just the same. So a month ago, I bought the generic brand called AcneFree and used it as directed, and at IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the first time in over 10 years my face has cleared up. The only thing that is not the same as the Proactive, is the Step 3 Repair Lotion. Proactive is more of a thicker cream and the AcneFree is very liquid. But the cleanser and the renewing toner work just the same for half the price. I hope this helps and God Bless you!

When I used Proactive it took about 1 month to fully start working. But it does really work.(for me)

I used it for a while, but then it just became such a task, taking ten minutes in the morning and night. It worked, but when I stopped the acne came right back. I'm thinking of ordering it again. Lol.

My boyfriend got Proactive, because he works in a kitchen, and thus his face can get quite oily. He doesn't have full blown acne in the least, but he can get oily from his job, and does get pimples here and there frequently. He bought proactive, and it has worked really well for him. I would recommend it, because I've really seen an improvment in his skin.

For me it does help a bit. Not perfectly like everyone in the commercial says!! But my skin seems less oily now and I only have occasional breakouts. But I'm still not sure if it's worth how much it costs. Good luck

Before I used it I really only had pimples on my forehead that just looked like a bunch of bumps. I started using it 2 months ago and it's made me break out worse, sometimes it looks like it's going to clear out but I started getting a bunch of white heads and all on my cheeks where I never got them. I guess you could say it got rid of most of the bumps on my forehead though =(, hope I helped! =D

I tried it once; had to send it back because I am allergic to some ingredient; my face turned red and I had to stop using it immediately.
But some of my friends use it and it does work for them

My daughter has it and uses it and she's always mad because more zits keep popping up all the time. I guess it works on everyone differently because everyone has different skin types. What works on one person, may not work on another.

I used it and it really does work, and it made my skin so so soft. Order samples off ebay before you spend a ton of money to see if its right for you

I used it everyday and it never made it any better. My zits never went away. I thought that it was a big waste of money.
