Depends on the closure you have.. most have just one adjustment screw on it,, commercial have two,,the closure is the cylinder looking thing that has the rod come out of it when the door opens,, look for a slotted head screw on the end,, try adjusting the closure rate with this screw,, turn one turn at a time till you get the right closure you like. They are supposed to do that ao there will be enough force to operate the latch. There is no adjustment for that. It is where the bracket is attached to the door. There is a sweet spot. Most people don't read the directions. If it bothers you that much, move the bracket. Chances someone replaced it with a different brand and used the old holes,

Ok I had the same problem. I also had two adjustment screws. One on top and one on bottom. I had to loosen the top one and tighten the bottom one. It took a while but I finally got it.
