I have just required a second hand pc and i was told that it has a dvd re-writer on it, how do i burn cd`s etc, i have no manuals with it.

You need software - and make sure it works. Roxio Easy media creator 9 will do DVD/CD/mp3's on CD or DVD - slide shows with music in the background on DVD on both DVD and rewritable DVD. Put a DVD in it and see if it will play a DVD to start with. Roxio is around £50 but you will probably get something freeware. With Roxio you can also drag a file to a CD or DVD - which is handy - not often though.

Check to see if you have programmes installed to do this,if the answer is yes then read the help pages that are with them,or look at www.downloads.com and search for free software that you can download,also for dvds www.doom9.org ,good luck

You can just drag+drop or get a program - like Roxio or Pinnacle.
