Seriously, a lot of women (and some men, but that's a whole 'nother story!) wear lingerie for their own enjoyment. It makes us feel sexy and special and sometimes even a little bit naughty and when we feel like that, we want to share it with the one we love. It's about how it makes us feel, now how it makes us look. The fact that it does make us smokin' hot is just a bonus.

Lingerie is associated with things sensuous. Sexual attraction and emotions of love are not the same.
You are misinterpreting this old saying. It means that when one is indeed in love (usually new love), we sometimes become stubbornly blind to the folly's and flaws that may exist in that relationship.

Lingerie is so popular because lets face it, women need to wear it! Without it, they get saggy boobs, sore bits...and love might be blind, but it's not stupid, and wouldn't settle for stuff like that.
