at my middle school we are havig girls basketball try-outs mon.-fri. ........this girl i don't like down my street is trying out too and she stinks and she told me that me and her will both make jv because we are both not very good.do you think she was telling me i stunk. she better not be because i think i am a pretty good basketball player.also do you know how i can calm my nerves because i am afraid i won't make the team and i will be kind of embarrassed when someone will ask me if i made the team and i have to say no i didn't.Another thing is is that our gym teacher said that there is alot of good 6th graders and that makes me think that if i don't make the team and one of the sixth graders do does that mean i really stink....................i need some advice..

HUSTLE HUSTLE HUSTLE! Don't think about old girl down the street or any of those other people @ your tryouts. Just play your game! Don't worry about the pressure, just go out, be competitive, and have fun. And if you make JV as a 6th grader...you must be destined for somethin' good. I went through the same expierience in the 7th grade (6th grdrs can't play in 6th, and I made the 8th grade team and started) but all I can tell you is focus & don't worry about the haters. Let them elevate your game. Good Luck & God Bless!

Go for it!

If you really want to play all you can do is go out and do the best you can. Only worry about yourself, there is nothing you can do about the other girls and how they perform. In youth sports hard work and positive attitude go a long way and coaches see that. You can't learn those things... and you can definetly learn a jump shot.

Play to the best of your ability and go for it don't back play agressive d and don't hog the ball b a team player and as for the girl don't listen to her. her or ne1 elses opinion doesn't matter only yours does. and you can clam your nerves down by listening to music it always helps me when I play sports or my nerves are on edge. go for it and REMEMBER don't back down. most of all have fun!!!
