well as you might see, im a big Dark Angel fan, and i found out theres a petition to bring back the show. i hope it works, but i am also realistic, i dont think fox will listen(or care). the ONLY thing that gives me just a shred of hope is family guy, and how they brought it back after such a long absence. but then again, jessica alba has gone to Hollywood and might not do the show. so has any other show been brought back because of the people??? and do u think jessica alba would do a season 3??

There has been a petition for Dark Angel for a number of years now. It isn't coming back. Sorry. This is no different that shows like Angel or Firefly. The network idiots have no idea what the audience wants and they cancel excellent shows that have a huge following. Look at Family Guy. That show has a history!! It was canceled and brought back because DVD sales were the highest ever!
Edited to add: Family Guy was brought back because of DVD sales, not because of outrage.

I'm sure several show have been saved like that, but the only one I know of for sure was the original Star Trek, which was slated for the scrap heap after its second season and was saved by what was (at that time) the largest volume of mail ever sent to a network. But then NBC moved the show to Friday night at 10, which is the Time Slot of Death, so the show only lasted one more year, but it did last that one more year. I've never seen Dark Angel, but if you enjoy it and think the show is getting a raw deal from Fox, by all means get your name on that petition, and then write to the network yourself (you'll be able to find the address on the Web), and tell any other Dark Angel fans you know to do the same. It can't hurt.

I don't think it was merely a petition, but Family Guy was once canceled and then brought back due to outrage of so many fans. If enough people share your sentiment, then there's a chance it may work. I think you're right about Jessica Alba possibly wanting to move on though.

The only show I believe that was brought back by petition was "America's Most Wanted" which airs on Fox. Family Guy was brought back by popular support but not a petition.

I'm not sure how true it is but I think Charmed was saved by a petition. I remember signing an online one and it came back for just one more season. If that was the networks intention or the power of the audience, I do not know!

Our narrow-minded NBC affiliate would not show Saturday Night Live when it first started. Someone started a petition. There were so many signatures that they had to start showing it. Petitions can work if they have enough support!

I was saved by a petition once. I had a clipboard with heaps of pages filled with signatures - anyway it was raining and I was running for shelter using the clipboard to keep the rain off my hair (it has a tendancy to go frizzy when it gets wet) and as I was running along a pigeon shat overhead - the clipboard wore it - not me.
Yay.

Shows that make money don't get cancelled. The answer is to get more people to watch it and drive up the ratings. It never hurts if it is 18 - 49 year olds who like the show.

This has happened several times over the years. The most recent being with Star Trek Enterprise. Some have succeeded but most have not. Good luck.
