Parking lot accidents tend to go 50/50. I've had two, both cases I was sitting when someone just backed straight into me (obviously not using their mirrors or looking over their shoulder) and in both cases, it was split 50/50.
It's difficult for them to prove how long you were at a stand still before the other car started reversing. You could have not seen their reverse lights and slipped in behind them, they might not have been backing up properly, etc. It becomes a he said/she said so they find both drivers at fault. It blows, let me tell you but that's how it is...well, at least here in California.
And unless there is an immediate "100% at fault" for a driver backing up like there is for someone who rear ends another driver, then I hate to say the other posters are off. If someone is backing up and you see it and try to slip in behind them, then you're not driving safely and would be partially at fault for the damage. Not saying this is the case with you, but the other posts about her being immediately at fault because she was backing off aren't exactly correct.
How long it will take depends on the damage. The process is calling your insurance company so that they in turn, can contact her insurance company.

Normally in a private parking lot, its both of your faults, because the state driving rules do not apply; however, it is typically the person that hits that is really responsible. If you got the other persons insurance information, then just call them now and ask to submit a claim. They will send you to a repair facilty to evaluate the damage to your car. If the liabilty is accepted by the other party, then the insurance will pay for the repairs. They will then put you into a rental car and start the repairs on your vehicle. A normal rule of thumb is 5 days of repairs for every $1,000.00 worth of damages.

Check with your state law and insurance company. Where I live, there isn't much law enforcement will do if the accident is in a "private" parking lot. So check with your insurance company about the claim. My husband's grandparents got backed into in a parking lot, and it was a bit of a mess. The guy that did it wanted to pay them off on site, and then told his insurance rep a different story. It took a couple of weeks to get things straightened out.

It also depends on what state you are in. When it happened to me in Texas, I was told there was no fault or charge for accidents in a parking lot.
Submit it to your insurance only if you are sure you will get something out of it. If you won't, then the best bet would be to get it fixed yourself so that your insurance doesn't charge you more for your policy. Only some insurances will do that.
If the lady has insurance and she will talk to you, you might try to get her to submit it to her insurance.
Either way, you may not get anything out of it.
It is tough to prove anything when accidents occur on private or public parking lots.
Good luck to you.

If she backed into you, it's her fault. You should get her information, contact insurance and report the accident to the police. As far as how long it will take to fix your car, it depends on what insurance needs to know, what needs to be fixed, and who's fixing it. Best of luck.
