I think that Robbie is popular because he looks like everybody's best mate from the pub or favourite son or grandson. The image in this respect is perfect. He comes across as a local boy made good and there is a great empathy between artist and fan base. The songs are OK, but the difference is made by the public perception of him in the UK

I'm amazed but why did English people re-elect Blair, why do they watch Big Brother & X Factor, why did they buy Boyzone records. Sadly I think that too many of the English are a little moronic (but I'm not suggesting they have a monopoly on stupidity).
His songs are written by third parties in the main although he appears on many of the credits.

I think he is gorgeous and has a real sexiness about him.Charm,finesse,the whole package.He is a fantastic performer and I could watch him non stop for months on end.His songs are brilliant,and he is so sexy when he sings!!!! Phoar!!!
One of my favourites is Angels,and Rock DJ.Brilliant videos,he is class.Plus he used to be in Take That a boy band,he has a lot of followers from those days.Take that was massive,almost as big as The Beatles.

I don't think its just english people. Loads of people love him. I personally think he's over rated. I mean his old stuff is alright but in my opinion he wasn't that great. I think it was guy chambers influence on him. His new stuff i mean fair enough if u like it but i switch off the radio when he comes on. Each to their own but robbie williams isn't my cup of tea.

I am English and I have know idea why. Hes borough out a couple of good songs now and then but that about it.

His type of music is just popular in Britain right now.
He's had a couple of huge singles, I know.
I guess it's the same as P!ATD being popular in the States or LaFee being popular in Germany....people in certain areas just have different tastes and trends. It goes along with our differences in pop culture.

i think he has had a few great hits but i dont think its just because of his music .i think hes an all round entertainer i know a few people who have been to his concerts and they all came back with glowing recommendations . hes also very outspoken and doesnt tend to go with whatever people tend to say . hes following in the footsteps of freddie mercury with the outlandish costumes next hell come out the closet and say hes gay haha
