First of all, YOU have more control over how your day is going to progress than a horoscope does. However, it is believed that if you are told that you are a certain way, will do a certain thing, etc. subconsciously you will MAKE it true.

Example: Your horoscope today says that you will be very active in important decision making and more outgoing in your personal life. Then after you read your horoscope you go to work and participate more than usual at meetings and interact with co-workers more because you believe that that is what will happen. Therefore, you make it happen. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Or like when kids (even adults sometimes) think ahead of time that a certain food is gross so much that when they try it they don't like it when otherwise they might have if they didn't impose such negative thoughts about the food.

Definition: A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that, in being made, actually causes itself to become true.

Other than you possibly making your horoscope somewhat true, I wouldn't worry about it actually having ANY effect on your life.

It depends on your source for the horoscope. If it happens to be that of a newspaper, then it's more than likely way off. Newspapers, or any public horoscope focuses on the Sun sign and completely ignores any of the other aspects of astrology. To get a proper horoscope, one needs to find the location of all of the celestial bodies, as well as some of the more important stars. Next thing to do is compare today's celesial layout with that from your birth.

Reading the answer is the only way to affect the results--kind of like Chinese fortune cookies.

it sort of does however if you don't think about the horoscope, you can actually be surpirsed on what may happen through out the day. if you push it, trying to get the horoscope to come true or not come true, that can really effect on what may happen.
