I love Halloween just like you. But at the risk of sounding cynical, something hideous happened in society a decade or so ago---starting with razor blades in candy by sick, sick people, and that was like a turning point where people's attention was raised to the sickos. Also, even though the young children who come to the door early in the evening are cute, I, for one, have had knocks on the door past 9 PM on school nights from not-so-cute Halloweenies who look like gang-bangers. Do they want candy or the contents of my wallet. So, I think it is a great fun celebration and I enjoy the private parties, school events, haunted houses and all of that much more than the kids knocking on the door. That used to be my favorite thing, but life isn't a Leave It To Beaver world anymore.

I think Halloween has become so commercialized and scary that parents shy away from it. The traditional holiday as we knew it is gone and lost forever.

I like the fall festival, pumpkin, and hay portions of it; the blood, guts, murder simulation, and vandalism I do not.

Halloween is pointless and annoying, especially in Britian. kids in shop bought costumes disturb you and basically go "can we have some food" this year i'm giving them chocolate covered onions, that'll be a surprise for them.
