make sure you are having sex about halfway between periods. typically 14 days after their period is a womans most likely time to be fertile. Sperm live in the body for up to five days, so even if you are ovulating a little later than you should, you can still conceive. You can find ovulation charts, and get ovulation testers that will tell you when you are likely to conceive. Just make sure mid-way between periods you are having sex. If you were on hormonal birthcontrol, it may take you longer to get pregnant. But dont despair. About 91% of women who are using no contracetive methods conceive within a year. Relax, and it will happen when it should. Good luck and god bless

You need to get to know your cycle from the beginning, so you know that you are having sex at the right time. Using cervical mucous was always a good indication for me. (You are about to ovulate when the mucous gets thicker and slippery, like egg whites.) My doctor also suggested having sex on days 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, and so on until you expect your next period with the first day of your last period being day 1. Of course, if your cycles are usually shorter than 24 days, you would want to start the process sooner. There is no scientific evidence to support either of these practices, but many doctors will suggest staying in bed for 20 minutes or longer after sex to let the sperm get up where it needs to and also your having an orgasm during or shortly after your husband's ejaculation may be beneficial. Also very important, try not to get too stressed about getting pregnant or stress your husband about getting you pregnant. Stress will only make things harder, so if it stops being fun and begins being more of a chore, throw the rules to the wayside and try to just enjoy yourselves.
Good LUCK!

This is a great question that I would also like to know an answer to. We are TTC as well and I just used the ovulation testers so now I just have to wait and see if it worked. Good luck.

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.
