Is it possible to change things,?

that have affected your life, with a prayer chain?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. If you think a prayer chain has some magical quality, it doesn't. However, there is a power to prayer so the more people you have praying for your situation, the better you'll be able to handle it provided you share faith in the Lord. As for prayer chain letters, I feel they are ineffective. Prayers of the saints need to be spoken to the Lord or meditated on prayerfully, not forwarded in an email on a busy day.
