Whiston is in the Knowsley area which like most of Liverpool has its good bits and bad bits. Steven Gerrard the Liverpool player is from Whiston.

Liverpool is ACE!! Going through a lot of regeneration right now. I'd move there now and avoid the house price hike. You could even cash in a little ;-)
I've considered moving to Liverpool a couple of times, but I'm tied up here right now. It's definitely not the sh*thole it was in the 80s...
BTW, it's a city but it's quite a small city so there's no giant trek like there would be in London. And beer is cheap up north...

Depends which area you move to. One thing you can be sure of though is friendly people.

on the whole the people are very friendly and famous for their wit.there is loads to do there, nightlife is excellent. european city of culture 2008...its buzzin`!
