something is stolen? i have a friend that is trying to sell me a laptop that he haves he told me that he has had it for a while how can i check if the laptop is not stolen?is there a website i can go ?

It should have a serial number on it. Check to see if it does and report the number to the police so they can check it out. If there's no number on it, it was probably stolen. Don't you trust your friend?

Go to the manufacturors website and give them the serial number to run a check on it.

Not for sure, and there is no website. The best thing to do is ask him for the owner's manual also. If he doesn't have it, it is probably hot. Hope this helps. (What makes you suspicious in the first place?)
