Do mums attract flies?

Question

I have an attached garage and there are a ton of flies on the outside wall. I have mums planted all along the side. I was wondering if the mums are attracting the flies or if it is something else. Help!!!!!!! Thank you.

They seem to be there every year about this time. We have our outside garbage cans in the garage. Do you think that could be it? I don't think anything has been spilled there. Last year we got them in the house and it was a pain to get rid of them. Thanks.

There are a few types of flies that are pollinators but not house flies or bot flies. They are probably there for some other reason. Anything get spilled on that side of the garage?
