Only in certain schools because the school boards are afraid of the "I'll sue ya" people's kids falling and getting scraped up knees and the school being held financially responsible for it. So next those same people will be sueing them for limiting their kid's rights.

Schools are steadily moving toward removing anything competitive from the whole school experience. More and more often, you see games like softball and soccer played without keeping score. Which is a real shame, because kids learn as much from losing as they do from winning, and they need to know the importance of properly dealing with both.

Political Correctness gone mad, Its to stop children getting hurt.
Children have been banned from playing tag, making daisy-chains and doing hand-stands in school playgrounds over fears of safety, research suggests.
The "culture of caution" led to one school banning running games in case children fell over, a survey by the Children's Society and the Children's Play Council found.
In one primary school, pupils were stopped from making daisy chains over fears the youngsters could pick up germs from the ground. Pupils at another primary school were banned from doing handstands after a girl was injuredAnd another school banned the use of yo-yos in case they caused injuries.

Tag? Meaning the cologne? If that's what you mean I think because the small bottles that you can carry with you look an awful lot like mace or pepper spray.
Hope that helps!

Because schools are afraid kids might get hurt and the school sued for it. Blame our sue happy society and claim rejecting insurance companies for it.
Kids run around and fall down, they get bumps and bruises. But the fear of being sued is just as real.
