I constantly criticize myself on little detail. Also, it leads to procrastination. I want to get rid of my all-or-nothing attitude but telling myself to change isn't working. How can I be less critical of myself, stop procrastinating and still manage to get things precise.

i am the same way. the way i got aroiund it, i would do something less than perfect, then i would analyze what were teh consequences. the most that would happen some times would be tht i felt bad that i was not the best. when i realized that there will always be someone better then me, i relaxed. but i did not lose my drive to do well. i just eliminated my dissapointment and frustration when something did NOT go my way. i am still a perfectionist, but i learned to let thigns go when i have no control over somehting. remember...you are powerless over people, and sometimes do not have all that much control over situations. when you realize this, you will be a lot less disappointed when things don't go your way, but you will strive to be the best. now, about the procrastination....it leads to less than perfect work. when i realized that i can perform better with planning, i quickly eliminated procrastination, because it contrasted with my goals.

I used to have that same problem. My procrastination happened bc I would take on too many projects & worry about the minor details and then the projects would go unfinished.

Now what I do is take on one project at a time, take care of the big picture and then worry about the minor details.

I feel sorry for you. I worked for someone like that, and she never got anything done. She imposed her constraints on us so that often, our work did not get done either. She was also afraid if anyone left the building for lunch, in case something might come up while we are out of the building. I think it requires counseling.

maybe you need to have a plan. instead of doing things willy nilly write out what you want to do, what needs taking care of today and today onlya list type of deal. . start small, reward yourself for small accomplishments by praising yourself. and stop comparing yourself to anyone else.
