I don't think it's frightening, most of the great leaders of the world managed just fine without a mobile phone. Churchill didn't bring us through the second world war just cos he had Double minutes and texts and 6 months half price line rental did he???!

Why does he need a mobile, there are plenty of people to pass on messages and I doubt he goes anywhere where there isn't a telephone to make a call from.

Tony Blair is only now buying a mobile phone? Every politician I know (and I've known a lot of them) can't get off the bloody things. Weird.

Nope, not frightening at all, I'm sure if something important came up they where more tahn able to get ahold of Tony, I don't own a mobile although my level of importance in the world is considerably less than that of Teny, Mobile phones to me are a scourge! If ya want me, leave a message at the beep and I'll get back to you!

No it is not frightening. This man runs a country 24/7. His days are always planned, so having a cell phone ringing constantly would be a distraction in his day.

I also just got my 1st mobile phone. Mostly I hate the fact that if you think you"re so important that you need to be in contact at all times with every one you know than i think you are missing the point of life altogether. I hate cell phones!

Rubbish. The man has had a BlackBerry for ages. Technically not a phone, but perfectly capable of making calls.

Sorry to disillusion you..... he's still a **** though.

Awww he probably just doesnt want the extra headache/stress. It maybe the only time he can get away from it all & he doesnt want to give up that little bit of freedom.

Not really...all his aid's probably have mobile's and pagers, because obviously if there's some kind of emergency whilst he's out, he'd need to know about it.
