We sign with our little boy, he didnt start doing it until he was about 11months, he is 14months now and quite good. I read books saying they start signing when they are 7months, which is a load of rubbish.

i'm coaching my toddler sign language. We all started around 10 months and he or she all started catching on only in the previous her 1st birthday. It has rather helped us be attentive to what she needs and that i'm effective its stored us many tears of frustration. We all began with the basics, consume, greater, drink, etc. She's 17 months now and he or she has possibly 15 or 20 indications. I observed a video of a 7 month previous dealing with like a hundred indications. We did not go that a techniques, only coaching her the basics so we are able to help along with her desires. Its exciting and he or she is amazingly pleased with herself while she learns new indications.

We haphazardly signed with our son, but he started to sign "milk" and "all done" around 12 months. At 14 months he was signing a lot, now he rarely signs if he can say the word.

About the same time they would be saying words. But you also don't want to do to many signs at one time.
