how about one of those sit and ride/stroll and push baby walkers. i don't know the exact name of them, but its the things that they lean on and push while they are learning to walk and that have a toy on the front so that they have something to play with when they are really tired and flop onto their bottoms. there are loads of different kinds and loads of different prices. have fun looking.

I would suggest getting something thats 'older' for him, so once all the baby baby stuff has been outgrown, he still has stuff to keep him playing!! or clothes are always handy, why not buy summer clothes aged 18 to 24mths, that way his mum will have something nice to put him then, they grow so quickly. Or, what about a first bedtime story book. My friend got my little one that, she wrote him a little message in the front, it only has short stories in, but they are long enough for his little attention span. Failing that what about an Early Learning Centre voucher, his parents can get him something later in the year as and when needed. Good luck.

How about an educational toy , at 9 months he should be sitting up on his own and able to play with something ... or by christams he`ll be 11 months so what about something he can hold on to and push to help him take his first steps ?
Good Luck ! 9 Months how cute :O)

How about a nice outfit, or some books, if you buy some books than perhaps you could read the book him, that way it will give you some special time with him and a present that you can both enjoy

try the ELC, mothercare or toys 'r' us! they have great toys and give you a age on them! best to get something that is brightly coloured, noisey, and easy to clean. ''rollarounds'' are good they are little see throgh plastic balls with things in like animals/shapes ect and you can get things to put them in my daughter had one they came with like a bubble gum machine she loved it as the machine played music when you drop in the balls and lights up argos sell it under pre school toys at £14.99
